Assassins was presented by the Rough Magic SEEDS in the Project Arts Centre.
In America’s short history, nine men and women have killed or tried to kill the American president. Assassins asks what hunger drove these people to do what they did? What binds them together? Could you be tempted to shoot the president?
“What a wonder is a gun!
What a versatile invention!
First of all when you’ve a gun-
Everybody pays attention.”
On the 50th Anniversary of the shooting of John F. Kennedy, Rough Magic SEEDS present Stephen Sondheim’s killer musical Assassins.
In America’s short history, nine men and women have killed or tried to kill the president.
Featuring a stylish score by Tony and Academy Award-winning composer Stephen Sondheim (Sweeney Todd, Company, Sunday in the Park with George) and a witty, provocative book by John Weidman.
Bold, original, unsettling, but also wonderfully funny, this is perhaps the most controversial musical ever written.
