Jezebel, by Mark Cantan, had its world premiere with Rough Magic in 2012/2013 at Project Arts Theatre before going on tour in 2014 around Ireland and to the Irish Cultural Centre in Paris, France.
Alan and Robin are a go-getting couple who want to spice up their sex life. Jezebel is a woe-fretting singleton whos looking to get one. Put them together and the solution seems simple. But what appears to be the answer to all their problems turns out to be just the start of them.
Mark Cantan wrote the script for RTÉ’s hidden camera sitcom Baptism of Hire. Mark co-wrote the political drama series The Running Mate for TG4 and has written and co-directed a feature film called The Alarms: A Story in Words as well as a production of his play, The Get Together. From 2010 – 2011 he participated in Rough Magic’s SEEDS Programme. Mark completed a commission for the Abbey Theatre called The Big Bad Wolf and contributed Somewhere to Fishamble: The New Play Company’s Tiny Plays for Ireland II.
Jezebel was the winner of the Stewart Parker Award.
